This
was the second to last workout for the week and it was left to me. I had to do a Cardio workout of my choice for twenty-five minutes plus twenty walking lunges. You know me; I’d be running on the street or
the treadmill. The weird thing is that I
felt pretty ill for most of the day. I
took a new painkiller for stomach cramps that worked a bit too well and left me
drowsy. A short nap didn’t help much and
it was already sundown before I downed a Lucozade
to kick-start my energy. Desperate times,
people. Anyway, I hit Drago a bit late
and it was an immediate struggle. I played
music this time to help me cope then just focused on my gait and
breathing. Eventually, my mojo activated
and I was able to put in my fastest pace on the treadmill to date. That’s right; I busted the same record that
was busted on Day
13. I was wet with sweat after the
cool-down walk but grinned broadly because I knew a new record had been blazed. The walking lunges were done
with 5lb hand weights and will definitely be a permanent part of my post-run
activities. Of course, next time I’m
doing them with the heavier pair.
Lastly, I completed Exercise
TV’s Sports Cool Down video to stretch out my muscles. I’ll apply some liniment as well to make sure
these tired calves can handle the next session.
Isn’t it amazing how the workout we almost skip turns out to be one of
the best we’ve ever had? This was My Fitness Revolution: Day 322.
